On May 18, the International Museum Day is celebrated all across the globe. The staff of the State Museum at Majdanek have for many years been participating in this annual event. This has been achieved through describing our work and involvement in the community service, presenting documents, relics, prisoners-related memorabilia, photographs, and testimonies from the museum’s collections and archives.
The current extraordinary circumstances regarding the COVID-19 have forced us to move all our activities to the online domain. Therefore, this year’s celebrations of the International Museum Day will take place on the museum’s website and within our social media. The content that you will find there is going to incorporate the items and materials from the collections and the Archives of the State Museum at Majdanek. For the first time we are going to air a live broadcast from the museum’s grounds.
Additionally, to celebrate the International Museum Day 2020 together with you, we are offering a special discount within the museum’s online bookstore (-20% for the orders placed between May 15 and 18).* https://ksiegarnia.majdanek.eu/en/
